Monday 20th Feb

Class 1-2 were sent some mystery seeds along with some instructions on how to plant them. We made some predictions about who could have sent them and also thought about what our seeds could grow into. We worked together to help each other plant our seeds using the instructions to help. Some children pointed out that they know a story where someone is given some magical beans... Jack and the Beanstalk! Could our seeds grow as tall as Jack's beanstalk? We'll find out soon as we are keeping a careful eye on them!

Thursday 23rd February

Today we spent some time exploring story books with moving parts. We noticed that some books had sliders and other books had levers. We tested them out to see what they did. Later this half term, we will be making our own moving pictures using sliders or levers.

 Monday 27th February 2023

 This afternoon Year 2 dissected a kidney bean to see what is inside. First we had to use our thumb nail to carefully peel off the seed coat. Then we used our thumb and finger to gently rub the bean to split it in half. We used magnifying glasses to see what was inside.
