Our Train Journey
We started our new topic and English Text (The Railway Children) with a virtual train journey. We all had our tickets punched and sat and enjoyed the changing scenery between busy London and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, with the sound of a steam engine in the background. We even got to enjoy snacks!

Welcome to Garnet Class
Year 4 Garnet is an exciting place to be at Keighley St Andrew's. Through our engaging curriculum and learning experiences, we strive to develop the children as individual thinkers and celebrate their resilience and mental strength towards the challenges they face. With God's help, the children will become independent learners, who will flourish and be filled with hope and aspiration.

Important Information
Our PE day is on a Tuesday. On this day, please ensure children are wearing the correct PE kit, footwear and no jewellery.
All homework will be given on a Friday. Please ensure children complete this including practicing their spellings. Spellings will be tested on a Wednesday and Times Tables will be tested on a Friday.
Children will choose their own reading for pleasure book. They will bring this home every day and change it regularly. Please read with your child at least 3 times a week and write in their reading record.
Multiplication Tables Check
At the end of Year 4, the children will partake in the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC). The check is designed to test the children's knowledge, understanding and fluency of the multiplication tables up to 12x12. The children are faced with 25 random questions and have 6 seconds in which to answer each question.
Each Friday, we will be having a multiplication tables test. Please ensure your child practices their times tables regularly.
The children also have TT Rockstars accounts and we encourage the children to go on a few times a week to continually develop that knowledge and understanding of each multiplication table.
- Soundcheck - The soundcheck tab will allow children to experience what the MTC is like.
- Rockslam - This tab will enable the children to set each other challenges as well as challenge the teachers, if they are brave enough.
